At one time, IYOBE created a conference table as long as a train car. When constructing a large table the selection of materials is an important consideration. While considering the space and placement of the completed table, IYOBE also factors in the direction and pitch of the wood grain, the finishing technique, and the manner in which the table will be connected.

The manner of connection is the key to joining boards smoothly for a single timber look on table tops. The curve on the edge is highly important. IYOBE uses files and planes not to have any transition. The illustration on the right shows seven boards joined to look like a single timber.

"In the drawer, there are over 100 planes. In the woodworking process, different planes are used for different applications.
		"We could not find a plane this small on the market, so we made one ourselves", an IYOBE craftsman says. The plane becomes part of his collection in the drawer. The IYOBE craftsman pays attention to the smallest detail.
